FT-5 Driver Review
The Callaway FT-5 is a driver that can fit any swing style, with three different centers of gravity available. One promotes draws and discourages slices, another produces fades and reduces hooks, and the third is neutral and provides golfers maximum shotmaking abilities.
That flexibility comes courtesy of Callaway’s Fusion Technology and its lightweight carbon fiber body. The design gave the designers 50 grams of discretionary weight to use on the perimeter of the clubhead, and that is what keeps the ball stable on off-center hits. As a result more shots that are just shy of perfect will still wind up in the fairway and out of the rough. And as an added bonus for those who may be more familiar with the earlier FT-3 model, the shift of weight from the clubhead to the back sole has restored the loud and satisfying ping sound made by a solid impact that was missing from that version.

Moreover, the Callaway FT-5’s slightly open titanium cup face is at the USGA’s legal limit, which promotes both distance and forgiveness. The 460cc head design offers a huge hitting surface with a higher MOI, a Callaway specialty.
Morgan Pressel is among the prominent professional golfers who carries the Callaway FT-5 in her bag, using it as she rockets up the standings on the LPGA Tour.
