Mizuno MX-700 Review
Mizuno calls the new MX-700 driver its “Hot Metal” driver, and a name like that brings a certain set of expectations. Fortunately for the company, the club delivers the goods and looks, feels, and plays like an elite stick.
The club is the successor to the MX-560. It has a Ti9 titanium face – the “hot metal” that Mizuno is referring to – that is plasma welded to the club’s titanium body. That process expands the club’s hitting area, with a corresponding increase in ball speed and forgiveness of off-center hits.
The clubhead itself is geometrically designed to have a low center of gravity, putting the sweet spot in the center of the club to increase the vertical stability and encouraging high trajectories and low spin to keep the ball flying on a straight path. The Mizuno MX-700 is available in 9.5, 10.5 and 12 degree lofts, and the Exsar DS4 driver shaft comes standard.

A little thing that also will help players is where the decal is placed. The crown decal on the Mizuno MX-700 is designed to help players align the club properly at address on the tee. That’s a final touch to help keep those drives in the fairway.
