Taylor Made R7 CGB Max Driver Review
The Taylor Made R7 CGB Max is one of several of the company’s drivers with movable weights. One 16-gram weight cartridge and two one-gram weight cartridges can be moved to three designated ports to influence ball flight. The difference can be significant, and the same ball can have a 35-yard swing in its left-to-right ball flight from a slight fade to a large draw. That allows players to adjust to get the right club specs to conquer local conditions, and can be changed to ideally suit each dogleg with the handy wrench that comes with the club.
It also features a triangular 460cc clubhead to ensure a center of gravity that produces a higher launch angle. Meanwhile, the SuperFast Technology keeps every part of the club as light as possible, promoting higher swing speeds. The shafts are long and light, the clubhead is designed for maximum forgiveness, and the Inverted Cone technology creates an expanded hitting zone that can turn even an imperfectly struck drive into a thing of beauty.
The model is good enough for Retif Goosen, who has the R7 in his PGA Tour bag.
