Taylor Made R7 Limited Driver Review
The Taylor Made R7 Limited combines the company’s noted technological innovation in a customizable package that allows golfers to adjust the club as needed to fit their individual game.
Like the other drivers in the Taylor Made family, the R7 Limited features Inverted Core Technology. This produces a clubface that transfers energy efficiently to the ball and produces higher ball speeds.
It features a clubhead shaped to ensure a center of gravity in the lower back region, helping to ensure the appropriate launch conditions. That is augmented by the Matrix OZIK XCON 5.5 MOI graphite shaft that come standard, which is designed to reduce clubhead twisting on impact and prevent off-center drives.
In addition, because the club has extraordinarily thin clubhead walls, the engineers had some extra weight to play with. As a result, the Taylor Made R7 Limited has movable weights that can be adjusted into any of the three available ports on the clubhead. Tweaking those can result in a 35-yard swing from left to right, and depending on the state of a golfer’s game on a particular day they can be switched on the fly as needed. For example, a golfer prone to slicing can move more weight to the heel of the club, which speeds clubhead rotation and promotes a draw instead. That’s just the edge that can make a difference on the course.
