Titleist 907 D1 Driver Review

The Titleist 907 D1 isn’t the first Titleist driver with a 460cc head, but it’s the one that really saw the company jump into the oversized revolution and gave the company a stick that is as long and forgiving as anything on the market.

It features a new design that increases the club’s MOI, bringing the combination of distance and forgiveness that is the big selling point of the bigger drivers. It has a smaller angle of rotation than most drivers, and more discretionary weight and maximum front to back dimension that helps give the club an ideal center of gravity and the stability to avoid twisting at impact.

The clubface of the Titleist 907 D1 breaks the mold – literally. The triangular shape goes against the company’s penchant for the pear-shape design, but it also helps the stability and forgiveness. There’s a large hitting surface to work with, and the ball flies off of it whether it is hit perfectly or slightly off-line.

A mis-hit will lose a bit of distance and won’t sound as impressive upon impact, but it should stay closer to the fairway rather than flying off the course. That ability alone makes the Titleist 907 D1 a club worth checking out.
