Titleist 907 D2 Driver Review

The Titleist 907 D2 Driver is a 460cc hitting machine that combines the distance-generating capabilities and the forgiveness of an elite oversize club.

Designers altered the weight distribution to push the center of gravity lower in the club, maximizing the energy transfer from hitting surface to ball. The MOI has been increased to boost the Titleist 907 D2's distance and workability. It resists twisting upon impact, minimizing mishits and keeping drives in the fairway. It features a tapered face insert that is thinner at the top, promoting ideal launch conditions and greater ball speed.

The club came out as Titleist was starting to fully embrace the oversized driver format, but there are still some old school touches. The clubhead, for example, remains in the traditional pear-shape, and the driver looks appealing without being too avant garde. Its polished black finish and symetrical club face are as nice to look at as the club is to play.

The Titleist 907 D2 doesn't have quite the same level of forgiveness as the Titleist 907 D1, but is also a little more suited to golfers who pride themselves on their shot-making ability. That explains why when it first came out it was the popular choice among the PGA Tour golfers who use Titleist clubs, and it’s still a great option for golfers today.
