Titleist 983K Driver

More than most manufactures, Titleist has embraced golfers who want smaller clubheads on their drivers. The Titleist 983K is a late-model club that has a 365cc clubhead, but still packs a powerful punch off the tee and can serve the needs of most golfers today.

This driver has the traditional Titleist pear-shaped clubhead, with its internal weighting concentrated in the heel. That gives it an ideal center of gravity and a high MOI, increasing the carry and distance. It produces drives with moderate spin and high trajectories, and its clubface is easy to square to the ball, preventing shots from going offline.

The Titleist 983K was a favorite on the PGA Tour when it came out, with pros like Phil Mickelson and Ernie Els using them to win events.

They may have moved on to newer and fancier clubs, but the quality and workmanship that earned their trust in the first place haven’t changed. Titleist doesn’t manufacture the model any more, but they can be a great option at resale outlets for many golfers looking for a lower-cost and less imposing option. And it's still good enough for Peter Jacobsen to use today.
